TAMU Kung Fu Club Info

The Instructors were Sifu Tye Botting (who founded the club in 1989) and . While the club disbanded after we and later instructors moved away in the late 2000's, we now train at Tye's Kung Fu, and are looking to add some supplemental class time on campus depending on demand. The style of kung fu taught is Northern Shaolin / Northern Praying Mantis, with some exposure to other styles, such as Hung Gar, Wing Chun, and different varieties of praying mantis kung fu. Our curriculum includes work on stances, weapons, forms, two-man sets, techniques, conditioning, applications, qinna, sparring, and much more.

There's also a local area in the Discussion Forums, for both Tye's Kung Fu and the TAMU Kung Fu Club to use. We also have an e-mail discussion list for both of the clubs. For more info, please feel free to contact any of the people above through e-mail; we check it quite often.

Visitors are more than welcome to come by at any time and either watch or just join right in.
